About the Water Lab

The Water Quality Laboratory at WERI supports both research and commercial water testing needs. It provides a wide range of water quality testing services including:

Tests for the presence and quantity of:

total coliforms, E. coli, enterococci, heterotrophic bacteria.


Equipment includes:

2 incubators, water bath, autoclave, IDEXX QuantiTray sealer, UV light cabinet.

Analyzes:

metals (10 types), nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus species).


Equipment includes:

3 atomic absorption spectrophotometers, 2 digestion blocks, flow injection analyzer.

Measures:

pH, free and total chlorine, conductivity, salinity, solids (total, dissolved, suspended), turbidity


Equipment Includes:

4 balances (2 analytical, 2 top-loader), 2 chlorine meters, 2 ovens, 2 pH/conductivity meters, 2 refractometers, turbidimeter
