WERI research assistant and Environmental Science graduate student, Nicole Sulla Mathews, was awarded the Student Travel Award to attend the 2026 NIWR/UCOWR Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. This June, she will be presenting her research on Land Cover Change in the Finegayan Basin, Guam (early 2000s – present) Using Seasonally Calibrated Supervised Classification Workflows. Her advisor, Dr. Yuming Wen, and WERI congratulates her success and are excited for her to present on the national stage.

They foster interdisciplinary collaboration and leadership to build capacity for addressing complex water challenges at regional and global scales.
