September 16, 2024 To: Who It May Concern From: Dr. Yuming Wen, Interim Director of WERI Subject: Guam Advisory Council Meeting You are invited to attend the FSM-WERI Water Resources Research Advisory Council meeting, which will be held on November 15, Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You will be advised of the venue for the meeting once it is determined. The primary objectives of the meeting are: 1. Reviewing ongoing research activities as they relate to the water resources needs of Guam. 2. Updating the water research, education, and training needs for Guam. The annual meeting is a forum for discussion of water resources management and development, and exchange of thoughts about solutions to issues relevant to freshwater resources in Guam. The meeting will start with greetings and introduction of participants, the WERI director’s talk about WERI and USGS 104b program, and be followed by presentations on current and completed projects. Round table discussions will be focused on research, education, training needs and outreach activities, and feedback. A questionnaire form will be distributed to collect topics on updated research and training needs in water resources management and development in Guam. Please distribute the invitation letter to those who may be interested. Thank you.
