The University of Guam hosted the Inaugural Research Forum on Friday, August 9, 2024. This event provided the space for UOG researchers across varying subject areas to exhibit their projects to the greater UOG community, spur discussions and open doors for potential collaborations. WERI was among the presentation lineup and was represented by Dr. Nathan Habana and his team of research assistants.
During the WERI presentation, Dr. Habana highlighted the efforts of the water quality lab as well as the ongoing works of the WERI faculty and research assistants. These projects span the areas of GIS and water management, weather and climate, surface water, groundwater, and water quality.
He emphasized the works of the students, placing them at the forefront of the talk with the new and exciting developments in their current projects. The strides in their work continue to elevate WERI as a research institution and showcase UOG excellence. Some of the students will present their work at an upcoming research conference in the mainland this fall, demonstrating their projects on a national stage and propelling WERI and UOG as the leads in water and environmental research in our local region.
