About the Presentation
Dr. Williams will present an overview of current work at the Brigham Young University (BYU) Hydroinformatics Laboratory. At the core of BYU’s work is the use of graphical model interfaces to provide access to various modeling outputs. This work includes tools to access and use the Global GEOGLoWs surface water model and tools to assess groundwater sustainability using remote sensing data. The presentation will include several short videos, including a video created by NASA to highlight this work, and two short, five-minute videos of current research being presented at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting this week. Dr. Williams will also provide a short overview of the history of work at BYU, including development of the Groundwater Monitoring System and other tools for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Dr. Williams will finish the presentation by showing Guam data in the Groundwater Data Mapper web application. This is a preliminary tool, meant to show the feasibility of using these tools on Guam.
