As of May 2024, construction begins for the new WERI building. It will soon rise beside the new School of Engineering building at the UOG Dean’s Circle

The new WERI building will continue to expand its services and research operations with the 13,000 square foot space. This size increases the expanse of the current Water Quality Lab (WQL), which is set to accommodate additional laboratory equipment and allow the WQL team to expand the work and services they can perform and provide.
